The Bank of Albania welcomed in an official meeting the representatives of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), led by Zyber Çadraku, Director of the Recovery and Resolution Department. The delegating from Kosovo met with resolution experts of the Bank of Albania.

This visit was initiated at the request of representatives of the Central Bank of Kosovo, following the establishment of the resolution function in this institution. The visit served as an opportunity to initiate ongoing cooperation in the field of resolution in banks, aiming to exchange experiences between the two institutions, the Bank of Albania said on Tuesday.

The visit created an opportunity to initiate ongoing cooperation in the field of emergency intervention in banks and to exchange experiences between the two institutions.

The CBRK delegation held working meetings and technical discussions with counterparts from the Resolution Department at the Bank of Albania, where topics of particular importance for the functioning of this mechanism were addressed.

Some of the main discussed topics focused on the legal framework for resolution, the resolution planning process in Albania, the identification of critical functions and the assessment of public interest, the assessment of banks’ resolvability, minimum requirements for regulatory capital instruments and eligible liabilities, cooperation with the Supervision Department and other domestic and international authorities, as well as the Resolution Fund.

The Bank of Albania is committed to supporting the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo in regard to the development of its resolution capacities and remains open to such cooperative projects in any area of its activity.
