Ilir Kulla Awarded Italy’s Prestigious ‘Golden Lion’ Honour on Albania’s Independence Day
Ilir Kulla has been awarded the distinguished “Golden Lion” Prize for Outstanding Merit during a ceremony held at the Italian Senate on 28 November, Albania’s National Flag and Independence Day.

Kulla, a prominent Albanian public figure, was recognised for his long and diverse career as a journalist, political analyst, adviser to several Presidents, and former Secretary of State for Religious Affairs. The award highlights his significant contributions to public life, as well as his longstanding engagement in Albania–Italy relations.
Having both studied and worked in Italy, Kulla has built a professional career closely connected to the country’s institutions and cultural environment. His recognition with the Golden Lion Prize marks an important acknowledgment of his influence, expertise, and decades-long commitment to fostering dialogue and understanding between the two nations.
